Why Not Work From Home?

How does traffic look this morning? What if you could avoid all the hassle of a long commute and simply work from your kitchen table, or local coffee shop?

It is becoming more common for people to work from a remote location. In fact, I suspect you already know someone in your circle of friends who does exactly that.

Sometimes people are able to work every day from a remote location and other times they an work from home a couple days each week.

Now that it is common for both people in a relationship to be working full time, how are you suppose to get things done during the week?

The answer may be that you need to find a telecommuting job. Depending on your career and your financial needs (yes, sometimes the freedom to work from home comes at a cost) there may already be opportunities available for you.

There are some career paths that are more common and have had the freedom to work from a remote location for decades – think of real estate agents or sales representatives.

Here is a brief list to research:

  • Data Base Administrator
  • IT Project Manager
  • Marketing Content Writer / Photographer
  • Social Media / Public Relations Specialist
  • Call Center Representative
  • Graphic Designer
  • Web Designer
  • Online Tutor
  • Accountant

But with more and more tech and marketing jobs becoming available, there are new career paths available for the aspiring telecommuter.

These jobs are out there, you just need to do a little research and search for them!
